My Daddy
Through a young daughter's eyes,
My Daddy:
a big powerful man,
Regal,
Stoic,
with his flattop military haircut,
his strong capable arms,
his commanding presence.
Laughter:
saturday morning cartoons,
Abbott and Costello,
"All in the Family"
Jerry Lewis on sunday afternoons.
Singing in the car
on the way to Richmonds dairy for ice cream.
Long Sunday drives
getting "lost",
finding our way home.
Dancing in the living room to
Simon and Garfunkle.
Many kinds of music played:
The Four Seasons,
The Tops,
Beethoven,
Roberta Flack,
"Killing Me Softly".
Daddy taking my little girl hand in his when crossing the street.
Feeling protected,
cared for,

Worst Movie EVER!!
I may have said it before...i am not sure...but last night i saw the worst movie EVER...
"Lady in the Water"...
OMG...my sister and i wanted to see it because we thought it would be a scary movie...
i am not sure...i think it was a comedy....
it seemed to be about a bunch of circus freaks living together in an apartment complex..then there was this lady in the water and some monsters made of grass and some other monster type things living in the trees...the circus freaks tried to kill the monsters that wanted to kill the lady in the water but they were trying to kill the monsters with squeegees and brooms and mops...i said...(and maybe a little too loud) "hey why are you using that stuff...get a lawn mower and weed wacker"...
my sister and i laughed through the whole movie...
it was an M. Night Shyamalan flick so we thought it would be decent...but it was so bad...worse than bad...
half way through i pulled the Rach and said...."i'll be right back...i'm going to go kill myself..." LOL
not only would i not waste the $10 to see the flick but i would not waste the $4 to rent it on video...and if it was the ONLY movie left to be rented on a friday night and WOW told me to take it and they would pay be $50 to watch it i would not even waste my time watching it...i would do something more constructive like watch paint peeling....
it was BAD and confusing...the lady in the water should have stayed in the water...

In The Soup
OMG...it is so humid here it is like swimming in a bowl of soup....ok...the temp is not as high as it was but the humidity is to the saturation level...
enough about the weather..
these past 2 days i have been taking the EKG class and i have been trying to get all the rhythms down....not easy when you consider how many there are and how many can be mistaken for another one...but...i will get the hang of it...i was doing better by the end of today and i know that i can get them down by next friday...
i have my schedule for next month and i will already be on 12s....much better....now i can schedule my trips to the shore and to hershey park...i am REALLY looking forward to them....

New heat description
we had another great time while being bored....ok, for most people that would be a contradictory in terms but you would totally understand if you had to go through orientation with us...
I laughed so hard today there were tears flowing....all i could think about was the PEZ dispenser episode of Seinfeld...
when we left for the day and we went to our cars it was so freakin hot...i said to Dianna it had to be 106 degrees...she said no way...probably in the 90's...we both looked on the thermometers in the cars for the outside temp and it said 104...the newest heat description is:
swamp balls butt ass hot...THAT is really hot

i swear they are ready to make the lourdes graduates leave....we had to have our own instructor at the table and she was soon laughing and having as good a time as we were.. :)
i think it will be another hard time when this orientation is over...we will have to meet every few hours so that we can get through the day....
well....it was the same crap again...how to do blood sugars..end of life issues...biomedical ethics...filling out the flow sheets and other paper work...all the things that we have done all along...but...it is great to be there with the gang...
and...i got the badge today...the one with the RN on it...how good does that make me feel??? oh..i don't know...try beyond GREAT!!!!!

1st day of orientation
let me start by saying that it was GREAT to see all my friends again...(even though we see each other every week)...but that is where the greatness stops....OMG...it is torture to sit through the first day of orientation....i have done it so many times and to do it ALL over again was madness....i wanted to stick a fork in my eye..THEN this freak lady treated us like we were in second grade...i was ready to stick a fork in HER eye....but the worst is over...at least i hope it is...
i am off for a little siesta since the dogs woke me at 4:30 am and i could not get back to sleep...(that was after finally falling to sleep at 12:30 am)...oh yea...since i am the brainiac that i am and i did not check the schedule for this week i was there an hour early...but then again so was mike...(he is ALWAYS early)...so we had coffee then went to the room to wait for everyone else...but that was an extra hour that i could have been sleeping...and so it goes...

Thanx
thank you Lorenzo for the summer look...it is brighter than the last and i am lovin the new template...
this is almost the last day of the summer vacation...i will start work on monday and i am really looking forward to it...#1 i will get to be with so many of my friends that will be starting at the same time...and #2 the money worries will lessen...i will still worry about the kids being at home but the good thing is that i should be home from work about 3:30 so that gives us the rest of the day to do things....not to mention the fact that they sleep till after noon.. :) as teens often do....
elyssa is calling me to help her with the pool...i will show the kids how to do some things around here so that i will not have to worry about those things...of course they are eager to learn now but when i say to them...vacuum the pool they will start crying.."why do i have to do everything?!?!?!"
kids...you can't live with them...and you can't drive to the middle of the desert and leave them to bake in the sun....who knows why??

Good Times At Colleen's
Rachel, Kimmie, Me and Colleen. As usual a good time was had by all and no one really wanted to leave. Wine, food and laughter was plentiful so we will do it all over again on the 15th at Rachel's.
(another Rachelism: "please don't arrest me.....I'm a nurse"... great story... LMAO...love ya Rach)
Rachel, Dianna, and Elyssa...my three "daughters".
