Happy Holiday...

It is another holiday here and the official start of summer. I am going to a Q with all of my student nurse friends. The party is at Colleen's house and I am very excited because I have not seen everyone since May 11, the day that will live in infamy. I can't wait to see everyone.

Yesterday was a gorgeously beautiful day. My brother, Jim, his wife, Gigi and my Kyle and Tyler and myself went to brunch at Adelphia. The brunch there is fabulous and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area. After brunch we all headed to the berlin mart, Jim and Gigi found some panthers CRAP and we had a good walk to work off the food we ate. Then we headed home so that Kyle could get ready for his job, we dropped Kyle off at the theater, went to the mall then headed home to drop off Jim and Gigi, Tyler and I went home to check on the movie schedule. After which we went to Dunkin Donuts so I could get a french vanilla dunkaccino (YUMMY!!!) and to the shop rite so Tyler could get his candy for the movie. Then back to the movie theater once again. We watched "Kicking and Screaming" with Will Farrell. Great movie and very funny. By the time the movie was over it was time for Kyle to leave. We stopped on the way home to get him some dinner . We came home and I got ready for bed, it was a long day and after 10 by the time we got home.

Today looks like it will be another beautiful day and I will enjoy it completely.

DUKIE IS BACK!!!!

after being MIA for over a month we were about to resign to the fact that Dukie may NEVER be coming home....but Kyle would not give up...when asked if he wanted to look for another cat at a shelter he refused saying that he only wanted Duke...well...Dukie came back last night...crying at the back door...Elyssa heard the cries and saw that it was not Isabella because she was in the house...and Cleo never cries to come in...she just waits for someone to open the door...so Elyssa said to Kyle...i think i hear Dukie crying out back..and sure enough..they opened the door and there he was....very skinny..very dirty...but ALL Dukie....we are all so happy that he is home...

home again 

another day off.....oh what to do

ok..i am here with another day off...it is such a luxury to have some free time....i did some wash and cleaning now i will go and meet my sister and nephew, josh, for lunch then we will do some shopping...the simple pleasures that most people take advantage of....joy of joys...and to boot...it is a simply fabulously beautiful day today...the rain has stopped and it is warming up...a beautiful spring day...i am oh so happy today....
i hope that everyone else out there is having a wonderful day...

hey there... hi there... ho there... ya'll are in trouble now...since i have learned to post pics it's a whole new ball game..

today i am going to clean the pig sty..that being the house of course..not the boys room...that is a class all on it's own and one i am not willing to clean AGAIN...anyway..i will be home cleaning since there is not work today and this is a holiday weekend...maybe i will have some company one day...yeah right!! i have, however, gotten an invite to Colleen's house for a Q...so i am thinking about going there...and my friend Kimmie is out of the hospital so i really want to see how she is...i am outite for now but if i come across a pic to put here then i will be back :)

the soup from last night

this is Isabella and Dukie...duke is the striped kitty and he was given to Kyle when Kyle broke his leg...Dukie is missing and Kyle is really upset about it :( we all miss Dukie and we want him to come home... 

another day of lectures

i am still not complaining because we get paid to listen to the lectures no matter how boring and redundant they are..but it is now over..i mean the orientation part of externship...now i will have to be oriented to the unit i will be on...then working with the patients once again... :)


today it is rainy and cold the same as the rest of the week...i am hoping for some sun soon as it has been some time since the sun has shone it's radiant face...i was thinking to make some soup for dinner...i think it would be good for a cold rainy day like today...ok..i am babbling..that means it is time to take a break..

2nd day as extern

again..more lectures but as i am getting paid for the lectures and not having to pay for them it is ok...i am still with my girlfriends and we sit together and have a good time while being bored to tears...i can't explain it but that is the way it is...tomorrow there is one more lecture day and as i am only a part timer i will be done for the week...next week i will start on the floor...i am on a critical care unit with cardiac patients...i should learn a lot this summer...i am very excited about it...

the hospital i work for is the top cardiac hospital in the tri state area...the patients come from all over...it should be a rewarding time on this unit

Ist day as an extern

well hello there....today was my first day as an extern...it was quite boring and it was lectures ALL day long...but they did feed us breakfast and lunch and i did see my friends again...i have missed them even though it has been less than 2 weeks since i have seen them...kimmie was not there and neither is my diana but elena, colleen, terri, beth, denise and bev were there and it was great to see them again....we did have a nice time (other than the redundant lectures)...now i am going for a little nap then i have to make dinner and then off to work tonight...

hey there

hello again...today i took my mother out for brunch then off to the movies to see the new JLo...ok..she is not my favorite actress but i could relate to the plot....i once had a monster in law....the movie was pretty funny and it was a nice day out with my mommy dearest :) we had a lovely brunch at the famous adelphias..and oh my goodness...the brunch buffet was fabulous....my mom loved it too and it was nice for her to get a break from caring for my dad...he is not in the best of health and he was in the hospital again on friday night because he was bleeding profusely from the injection site for dialysis....he was rushed to the hospital by ambulance where he was stitched and rehydrated... because of this my mom missed her vacation with her sisters in the tennessee mountains and she was a little sad about it so i took her away for the day....ok...i think i will now go and watch a movie on the tv....i hope all are well...i know there are many many many people that visit here daily to see the adventures of babsie unfold...i hope you enjoyed this wonderful excerpt from the dreary days of babs

Oh what to do

this is the first weekend that i do not have to study all weekend and that my kids are not here....i don't know what to do with myself....there are many things that i have to do around the house but i am a bit lazy today and i do NOT feel like cleaning, painting, doing wash, cooking, or gardening anymore...so i am just being lazy...i think that i have earned it :)
the weather is beautiful and i would so love to go to the art museum but i hate going there by myself and i can't find anyone to go with...just my luck all the free time in the world but nothing to do with it...i am not complaining by any means...i am loving it :)

A long time

Hello there...it has been such a long time...i have been through a lot these past months... but i managed to get through in one piece...
i have made many new friends in the process...friends that i am sure will last a life time..

i made it through nursing I but not unscathed...my dear Aunt passed away at the end of the semester and i am still scarred by the loss...it was hard in the beginning of nursing II because i saw her in all of my patients...she is still with me--in my heart and in my lovely memories of her...i miss her deeply..

nursing II was torturous...i have never studied so hard in my life and i have never been so afraid of failing a class...if i had failed the class i would have had to repeat all that torture...something i was not ready to do...but...i have passed YEAH!!!!!!!a bunch of us went out to celebrate the other day...then friday night a bunch of us went to celebrate my sisters birthday...what do ya know...she has finally caught up to me and we are now both 29...we had a great time at both celebrations...

it feels good not to have to study for a test or an exam...

tomorrow i have to go back to delran because the nurse there forgot to give me the ppd for the new job i got at the hospital...oh yeah...another good news thing that i have not mentioned..i applied for an externship at our lady of lourdes hospital and i got one of the 20 that were available...i am so excited about it...another good piece of news... i no longer will be working on friday nights at the office as the office will now be closed...yeah!!

ok...i know that was a little scatterbrained but there it is....things in my life...good and bad....now i am going to find something to do on my first day off from studying....see ya soon.. :)
